These products are individually locally handcrafted in Canada by Susan Payne. After working in Childcare for the past 20 years I saw a need for a toy that was every expanding and changing to suit a growing child, and a toy that takes little storage room and could also work as an excellent travel toy.
After much thought I designed this great space for children to use in the capacity they needed. My version of the tiny tent was born.
A toy that can grow with a child as the space gives them their own little world to be in charge to use their age appropriate toys and figurines to role play, tell stories and be creative.
Children need imaginary play to develop and grow, but also they need a place to be able to express frustrations, anger, sadness or just things they have trouble putting into words.
These toys used by therapist, pre-schools, kindergartens, day cares and as great toys in the family home as imaginary play toys for children. The tiny tents are constructs from fabric and wood and provide a space for children to do some great imaginary play with their toys.
My creations started with the tiny tents and have evolved further to include great accessories to use with the tents.
The tents come in two sizes
Associated hand crafted items include sleeping bags, bendy dolls and peg dolls. Fire place, play mats, dolls canoes, wands and trees all made from felt.
